| Every
year gets bigger and better at the Annual Casino Night Scholarship
Fundraiser! It was an Escape to Pair-A-Dice with the cold weather
outside and tropical theme inside. Between Roulette, Craps,
Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Dip for Diamonds, good food,
great people and a silent auction loaded with different items,
everyone found something to enjoy. We greatly appreciate everyone
coming out and helping us continue the success of our scholarship
program.
This event
could not have been made possible without our

We also
had a great Task Force that worked for months to make our Casino
Night fantastic! Those on the Task Force are Kristi Allessio-Burns,
Craig Casper, Julie Dale, Nancy Foss, Elaine Hanks, Michele
Heyman, Jan Keeling, Ron Wignall and Kaira Tanwar.
Special
acknowledgments go to these amazing individuals for their dedication
to raising scholarship funds and the Casino Night:
Bette Williams for her continued support to
the Chapter, TSCPA and the accounting profession. We are extremely
privileged to have her in the Austin CPA Chapter. There are
numerous reasons why we named our highest-ranking scholarship
after her, but the list is so long, we would run out of web
space!
Elaine Hanks for all of her hard work on the
decorations. She secured Ali Bleu Flowers & Gifts who donated
beautiful tropical arrangements and balloons. Elaine made all
attendees think they really were on an island paradise!
Maxine E. Flournoy. Although not a chapter
member or even a CPA, Ms. Flournoy’s support of the Bette
Williams Scholarship needs to be commended. Thank you for helping
make a student’s dream a reality!
Brian Hoover
of Avant-Garde Jewelers helped us secure the diamond and inspected
everyone’s stones towards the end of the evening. If you
still have your Cubic Zirconia, Brian can set that into very

Every year
we have a silent auction to help raise scholarship funds. We
raised several thousands of scholarship dollars with this particular
