CPAs COUNT! at the Skillpoint Alliance College & Career Fair

Think back to all the emotions you felt during your senior year in high school as you worried about where to go to college, what your major would be, or maybe even whether you wanted to go to college at all. Those same emotions are still experienced by today’s high school students, and TSCPA volunteers saw it first-hand at the Skillpoint Alliance College and Career Fair on October 7th.

Students were eager to talk with us; some came right up and announced, “I want to be a CPA!” There were others who asked, “What is a CPA any way? What do they do?” It was so much fun to discuss our profession with these exciting young people and talk about the opportunities they would have as a CPA. It was also good to reassure them they have lots of time to “decide what they want to be when they grow up.”

Working beside other Chapter members and staff was yet another benefit for me. Please, pick at least one volunteer activity offered by our Chapter and do it. You’ll give a lot and get a lot!
