The Austin CPA Chapter's first meeting of members for 2007-08 was held Monday, September 24, 2007 at County Line at the Lake. More than 70 local CPAs chowed down on County Line’s famous Barbeque and listened as TSCPA Chairman, Jim Smith, CPA, gave an update on the current state of the profession. Jim is a dynamic presenter who discussed how the accounting profession has changed dramatically over the past few years as well as describing which new issues are on the horizon. He gave a brief update on professional issues and explained how your professional association is representing your interests and keeping you informed. Additionally, New Members of the Chapter were recognized and welcomed, and members in attendance celebrating a 10, 20, 30 or 40 year membership anniversary were presented with lapel pins.
