| It was Saturday,
September 9, 2006 and the place was Quail Creek Country Club.
Three unsuspecting Austin Chapter members and one eager Marketing
Director arrived at the Club for the Texas State University
Accounting Club Golf Tournament - not knowing what lied ahead
in their futures. They scoped out the venue and quickly found
their modes of transportation – the coveted golf carts.
They were beautifully poised with their names and teammates.
From there, the day began.
After the initial introductions and handicap
comparisons, they sped off with fervent anticipation to reach
their assigned holes of golf. There were some bogies, some pars
and most importantly some birdies shot that day – all
in the name of golf! As they rounded the golf course, it became
clear that the day would be filled with great excitement, great
conversation and a little ribbing by fellow teammates.
Harold Ingersoll, CPA, Joyce Smith, CPA, and
Michelle Weaver of Lockart, Atchley & Associates, LLP and
Ron Wignall, CPA were the chosen ones for this hyped event.
Fun was had by all and Michelle Weaver’s Team J tied for
Third Place with a final score of 62. The Austin Chapter was
well represented and we proved that CPAs do COUNT! (as well
as Marketing Directors!).
