| The Austin CPA Chapter
offers a biennial Leadership Development Program to train Austin
Chapter members on ways to become more involved in the Chapter,
the profession and the community. This year’s 12 participants
began the program on September 25 with a session provided by
Jerry
Love, CPA, Chairman of the TSCPA and John Sharbaugh, CEO
of the TSCPA. Jerry and John provided insight into the workings
of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Texas Society
of CPAs (TSCPA). Participants also learned about the many volunteer
opportunities available to members of these organizations.
The Program consists of 5 half-day sessions
meeting once per month, September through January. Participants
earn points for participating in Chapter events of their choosing.
After achieving 75 points and completing all five sessions,
the participants graduate from the program with a celebratory
dinner in late January.
This year’s participants are: Mohammed
Ali, Casey Anderson, Erin Anker, Atiyeh Behmanesh, Julie Dale,
Guy Draper, Elaine Hanks, Michele Heyman, Rusty Morrison, John
Orton, Jeff Peek and Kristen Wicke.
