The Profession’s Shining Star: CPA-PAC

The Austin Chapter has adopted a CPA-PAC fundraising goal for 2006-07 of 10% member participation and $9,500 in contributions. To that end, chapter members Bette Williams, Gary McIntosh and John Pearce have generously offered to provide a matching fund program. It works like this: for every contribution of at least $10 made by a first time contributor, they will match that contribution amount … up to a total of $1,000 in contributions. Contributions can be made securely online or by mailing a check to the Chapter office. There’s no easier way to get involved and support your profession!

Five star points about the CPA-PAC:

The TSCPA-CPA-PAC supports candidates who understand the public’s expectation of high ethical, technical and professional standards of the accounting profession.

75% of your PAC contribution stays in your chapter’s PAC fund for use in supporting local legislative candidates; 25% is used to support statewide candidates.

Chapter volunteers, along with members of the CPA-PAC Committee determine contribution amounts for candidates.

The CPA-PAC is registered with the Texas Ethics Commission and is non-partisan.

All staff and administrative costs associated with the CPA-PAC are paid by the Texas Society of CPAs.
