On May 8, the Austin Chapter TSCPA CPE Foundation
hosted its first 8-Hour Free CPE Expo at the Thompson Conference
Center on UT Campus. Over 165 Austin Chapter members turned
out for the Expo – probably the highest percentage of
Chapter members ever at a single event. Following the Expo,
the Chapter hosted a networking event for mixing and mingling.
We didn’t have quite the same 165 people, but we had a
really nice turnout!
The Expo had five different presenters, three
of which are Chapter members: Christi Mondrik (Margin Tax);
Ira Lipstet (Property Tax); and Florence Atiase (Financial Statement
Analysis). We are very lucky to have these individuals in our
Chapter! Bob Owen presented a Legislative Update - he is a Dallas
Chapter member and TSCPA’s Governmental Affairs Director.
Our fifth speaker was Jerry Hill from the State Board.

The reason the Chapter was able to put on such
an event was because of you, our members. We very much appreciate
all of you continuing your memberships and wanted to thank you
by offering this free CPE opportunity. We will continue to offer
our two-hour Free CPE sessions throughout the year and we will
evaluate next spring if we can continue with another 8-Hour
Free CPE Expo. If you have any questions about our CPE program,
