| Many Austin CPA
Chapter members attended the meeting on January 30, 2007, held
at the beautiful Chateau
Bellevue, also known as the Austin Woman’s Club.
There were several items on our agenda: election
of Chapter Officers for the 2007-08 year, recognizing our scholarship
recipients and Capitol
Club members, and a presentation from Nancy Gresham on Fraud,
Scams & Con Games for CPE credit. A special guest attended
the meeting as well – Jerry Love, TSCPA Chairman.

Before the meeting officially
started, we had social hour. We’re happy our CPAs are
so friendly! |

Once the meeting began, it was
time to enjoy lunch. The rolls were fantastic. |

|
After Nancy Foss, Chapter President,
welcomed our guests, Dan Popejoy announced our 2006-07 scholarship
recipients. Attending the meeting were Jana Nurmukhanova and
Sue Zhang. |

Diana Sullivan introduced the Capitol Club
members. The Capitol Club is for firms and businesses which
have 100% CPA membership in the TSCPA and Austin Chapter.

|
Not all firms in the Capitol Club had representatives
at the meeting, but several were present. The types of businesses
in the Capitol Club range: CPA firms (sole-practitioner to
large local firms), industry, educational institutions and
non-profit organizations.

Pictured here are the officers and representatives
of the Austin CPA Chapter for the 2007-08 year. With these
great individuals in place, the Chapter is assured another
stellar year! Without our volunteers, the Chapter could not
do anything!

Nancy Gresham, from the Attorney Generals
Office, gave an enlightening speech on fraud, con artists
and identity theft. Her true stories about fellow Texans were
an eye-opener.
|

|
Jana Nurmukhanova, pictured center, is a graduate
accounting student at UT. She earned the highest-honor Bette
Williams scholarship. Bette is pictured at right and Dan Popejoy,
Scholarship Chairman, is at left.
