Nearly 100 people signed up for
this year’s Annual Tax Conference which was held the week
before Thanksgiving on November 17 & 18 at the Holiday Inn
Northwest Arboretum. The registrants came from all over the
state – Austin (of course), San Antonio, Fort Worth, Houston,
Longview and Abilene just to name a few cities. It could not
have been done without the help from our Tax Conference Task

One Day Two of the Conference,
we had a panel discussion on Real Estate Industry Transactions
and Legal Issues. |

No soggy boxed lunches here! We go all out with our food.
Day Two of the conference was a Mexican fajita buffet with
cheese enchiladas and all the fixings – even tortilla
soup.

Another shot of our Day Two buffet – and people are
smiling! Day One was an Italian buffet with Chicken Parmesan,
Lasagna and Pasta with choice of two sauces. Nothing is small
in the state of Texas!

To help lug around the heavy binders, we handed out very
cool tote bags to the attendees of the conference. Amy Plant
models her lovely bag for the camera.

On the evening of Tuesday, November
15, we held the Binder Stuffing Party in our Chapter Training
Facility. This is where we put all of the conference materials
in the binder behind tabs and this year it was a big one –
nearly eight pounds!
Special thanks go to our volunteers
for the binder stuffing event: Debra Watkins, Jessalyn Thompson,
Guy Draper, Dan Popejoy, Debby Smetzer, Nancy Foss and Michele
Heyman. Staff members Diane Joiner, Linda Messing and Kaira
Tanwar shuffled papers right along with them. Their work was
under-paid with some pizza and adult beverages.
