Recruiting volunteers to work the new CPA
swearing-in ceremony is one of the Chapter’s most important
and most beloved activities. It’s a delight to see the
new CPAs and their proud families, and the June 4th ceremony
was certainly no exception.
One proud grandmother drove all the way from
Las Vegas to see her grandson sworn in. She was unable to get
a hotel room that weekend, so she stayed in her RV! Now that’s
dedication!
And speaking of incredible commitment, Austin
Chapter member Jay Scheumack, a regular swearing-in volunteer,
shocked the group with his 80-pound weight loss! Losing that
much weight would be an incredible achievement under any circumstances,
but Jay did it while simultaneously opening a Ben
& Jerry’s store with his employer, Lifeworks.
Way to go, Jay!
Thanks as always to our dedicated swearing-in
ceremony volunteers: Carol Boyd, David Crumbaugh, Nancy Foss,
Michele Heyman, Jan Keeling, Mick Koffend, Tony Ross, Jay Scheumack,
Joyce Smith, and Greg Amani Smith.
