Professional's Pump-a-Pint Blood Drive

Thanks to Our Members – We’re #1! During the month of May, the Austin CPA Chapter participated in the Professional’s Pump-a-Pint Blood Drive Challenge with the Travis County Bar Association and the Travis County Medical Society. Well, we finally did it! This is the third year of the Challenge and the CPAs knocked the socks off the doctors and lawyers. We had over 3% of our members come out and donate blood – The lawyers had only 1.6% of their members and the doctors even less than that. A special thanks goes to Sheri DeSpain, of Maxwell, Locke & Ritter who put on an additional blood drive for the CPAs to get their blood.

The Blood & Tissue Center of Central Texas is in short supply of certain blood types. If you haven’t donated yet and you are able, please do so. Even though we are no longer in competition, the blood supply always needs replenishing. If you gave in May, you will also be eligible to donate again in July. It’s these types of donations that save lives!
